Storm Front by Sylvia Barnes

Features

ARTIST NOTES: Will the old tree survive the oncoming storm? The white of the tree contrasts with the black and red of the oncoming storm. Nature against nature and the ever onward march of the changing world. The tree stands tall in the red Australian outback soil against the might of the brewing storm. Framed in Tassie Oak floating frame. A joint work by Sylvia and Anna.

ARTIST BIO

After retiring from the full-time work force I have been able to pursue my love of art and in particular painting.  There is great pleasure in visiting the many and diverse art galleries in Melbourne.

I have completed three years studying, practicing and pursuing my passion in visual arts at the CAE in Melbourne.  Although my major interest is painting I also enjoy printmaking with wood engraving and lino plates.

Recent submissions to several art shows and exhibitions have been well received and have influenced my choice of current and future works.  I enjoy depicting scenes in every day life while out and about and in  my neighbourhood.

I look forward to submitting my art works for the pleasure of fellow art lovers and receiving constructive criticism.
