Jerry Portrait #2 by Jared Piatkowski

Features

ARTIST NOTES: -2/3 Portrait studies of Jerry.
I came across him on YouTube channel #SoftWhiteUnderbelly - recommend.
Jimmy's unique visual coming is due to him being shot point blank in the head with a shot gun (whilst on his way to work and waiting for the bus - all just circumstance).
With his physical condition and 90% loss of sight he ended up destitute living on skid row. But he doesn't negatively reminisce or dwell on his life altering circumstances . A very content and life loving individual. Unfortunately Jimmy died late last year (breathing complications due to injury). Amazing man....

ARTIST BIO

Practising art from a young age and have generally pursued a focus in drawing and painting throughout Schooling, University and maturity.
My style is abstract expressionism. Mentors and Influences range from some Post WW1 movements like CoBrA, Melbourne Expressionists, German Expressionists and the Masters like Francis Bacon, Antoni Tapies, and Van Gogh.
Have gallery exhibit experience in both groups and solo shows.

My style and approach to my artwork is commonly a depiction of a memory/thought from my subconscious state. I then transfer it to the studio setting and consciously push and develop.
I love to embrace the role of Chance in my art, and work with spontaneity.

My purpose as the artist is to deliver to the viewer a strong and confronting composition: Through the moods of my palette, bold and defining lines, stacked and mixed mediums. Leaving a suggestion of story line/theme/meaning.
